Obituary of Richard V. Welch

Richard V. Welch, 74, of Stuyvesant Manor in Geneseo, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at his residence. He was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas (Kay) and John Welch. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, son, James (Denise) Welch of Avon, daughter, Margaret (Sherman Yates) Ingalls of Geneseo, grandchildren, Luis, Richard and Daniel Welch, Wolfgarr Lobo, Katherine (Matthew) Crowley, Emily and Fredrick Ingalls III, great grandchildren, T.J. Applebee and Sophia Crowley, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born February 15, 1939 in the Bronx, NY the son of James and Mary Devine Welch. Dick received his Bachelors from SUNY Geneseo and his Masters Degree from Hofstra University. He was a Guidance Counselor for Geneseo Central School and then Director of Financial Aide at SUNY Geneseo. Dick was a long time member of St. Mary's Church and St. Mary's Men's Club. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Sunday from 1-4 PM. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Private interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd., Geneseo, NY 14454.
