Have you lost someone close?
Would bereavement support be helpful for you?

Grief is a normal and natural response to a loss, and often expresses itself in our lives in many ways. Grieving people commonly feel a wide range of thoughts and emotions during their grief, but each person experiences grief differently. Grief is unique; there is no "right" way to grieve.

But while the grief journey can be frightening, painful, and over whelming, it is also a necessary part of reconciling your loss in order to find continued meaning in life. And while each grief journey is unique, the bereaved share may similar kinds of of feelings that can provide the basis of a caring support network.

Journeys is a grief and bereavement support program sponsored by Livingston County Hospice. Its services are free to individuals who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

Support groups are often an effective way to help bereaved people heal by offering a confidential and supportive place to share their grief with others.

Support groups help by:

• Providing a respectful environment
• Allowing members to explore the many feelings and thoughts about their loss and grief
• Introducing members to others who have had similar experiences, thoughts and feelings

• Information about grief resources
