Obituary of Margaret E. Melizzi

Margaret E. "Marge" Pecora Melizzi, age 88, of Wadsworth, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt Morris, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-nine years, Thomas, and siblings, Rhea, Russell, Samuel, Joseph and Loretta. She is survived by daughters, MaryAnn (Bogdan) Melizzi Golja of Nashua, NH, Lynn (Wes) Kennison of Geneseo, grandchildren, Caroline Golja, Minhhang Kennison Huynh, Diem Hang Kennison Huynh Younes and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marge was born October 18, 1927 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Russell and Caroline Ferrara Pecora. She worked for Kodak early in her career and was known in Geneseo for her years of work at The Village Corner and the Geneseo Central School cafeteria, from which she retired in 2007. Marge was also known for her cooking and home canning over the years. She was active in many volunteer service and church organizations and was a member of St. Mary's Church, Geneseo and St. Lucy's Church, Retsof. Friends may call Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 1-4 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon officiating. The burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Parish for the restoration of the St. Mary's Church Bells, 13 North St., Geneseo, NY 14454.
