"Marge was known for her cooking and home canning." A comment that might be made of anyone's Mother or Grandmother in an obituary, but for Margaret this is an understatement. A meal at the Melizzi home was a carousal of delightful cuisine. I am not speaking metaphorically of an endless array with the word carousal. At the center of Marge's table was a large lazy susan. "Did you get enough eggplant?" she would ask, and without waiting for an answer, the entree would be dialed up and spun to the position in front of you.
It is common to honor the life of a friend with a visit to a tavern. To celebrate the life of Margaret Melizzi, it seemed more fitting to dine out. I ordered a plate of Rigatoni with Meat Sauce, the quality was not to Marge's standards but the quantity was appropriate. Marge will always be known for cooking but more stories will be told of her unassuming nature and kindness. I feel fortunate that she was a part of my life.

May she rest in peace. Joining a lot of recent York residents who have pasted away. They along with Tom I am sure are there to greet and welcome her to that better place!

I remember Marge for the brownie and Girl Scout years and of course both Girls. Haven't seen her in years but I am sure she continued to be a great Mom and grandmother. Thoughts and prayers with the family.
