Obituary of Jack L. Schild

John L."Jack" Schild, 78, of Groveland Rd. in Geneseo, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Jean DeFreze Schild, children, Robert (Ellen) Schild of Geneseo, Debra Beaumont of Perry, Judith Schild of Dansville, grandchildren, Cassidy Schild, Lindsey, Elizabeth, and Catherine Beaumont, and their father, William Beaumont of Perry, niece and nephews. Jack was born June 23, 1932 in Rochester, NY the son of Lester and Bernice Schlaefer Schild. Jack led a full life, touching all those around him. He was a veteran of the Korean War, an educator, gardener, golfer and lifetime Red Wings fan. Most of all, he was a loving, supportive husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 3-7 PM. Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon of St. Luke's Parish officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Scholarship Fund, 13 North St., Geneseo, NY 14454.
