I was so sorry to hear of Jacks passing. Jack's name came up just last week when I told someone about the blizzard of 66 and how Jack & my Dad took the sleds & hiked up to Burdet's Grocery to stock up on supplies and in the summer he would knock on the kitchen door and say "Doris, can Jimmy come out and have a beer?" My Mom always got a chuckle from that. You are all in our thoughts & prayers. Joe

Jack Schild was a great man and he was by far one of my favorite teachers at York Central School.
I will never forget his smile and his kind ways.
He was a gentleman of the finest sort.

Mr Schild was a great principal. He demanded respect but gave it back to students with his humor and kindness. We were all lucky to go through school with such a great man as our leader. I hope the love of every life he touches helps all members of the Schild family at this time. He will be greatly missed!

I will miss this wonderful man who was not only a friend but my right arm. Jack helped me more times than I can count when I had a problem in accounting. He was a great asset in chairing not only the parish's finance and the building and grounds committees but in providing extra reports to St. Luke's finance committee and parishioners. He even went to St. Bernards and got his certificate as Business Manager, with his main purpose being to understand the diocesen accounting system so he could help me. He went above and beyond as a volunteer to his parish and others. His loss to our parish is great. I will miss you Jack and I would like to think of you as portrayed in a Native American Prayer:
I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am still with you still - in each new dawn.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. What a wonderful man he was! He will now join my mother in heaven and they can have conversations about the Greigsville area. Blessings be with you.
