Obituary of Eleanor M. Houston

Eleanor M. "Ellie" Houston, age 49, of Second St. in Geneseo, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. She was predeceased by her parents, Honorable J. Robert and Judith C. Houston, sister, Gertrude and brother, Seamus. She is survived by her brother, Emmet (Dave Hebron) Houston of New Orleans, LA, sister, Kathleen (Soren Thomas) Houston of Geneseo, nieces and nephew, Felicity, Kate, Isabelle, James and Poppy, uncle, David (Susan) Chandler of Australia, several close cousins and many special friends. Ellie was born January 15, 1965 in Rochester, NY the daughter of the Honorable J. Robert and Judith Chandler Houston. She was a graduate of the Holcomb Campus School in Geneseo and York Central School class of 1985. Ellie appeared in nearly 30 Geneseo Community Players productions. She was a longtime rider in the Genesee Valley Hunt. Ellie will forever be remembered as a Helping Hand at the Geneseo Wegmans where her smile and personality were infectious. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Church in Geneseo. Ellie was an avid fan of her beloved Washington Redskins. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 3-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Livingston-Wyoming ARC, 18 Main St., Mt. Morris, NY 14510 or a charity of one's choice.
