Every time I think back to my days of growing up in Geneseo, among the first images that I see is a young Ellie, maybe 10 or 11, skipping down the sidewalk in front of your house on Second Street, happy as can be. She was a special gift in this world and she is already missed.

Having shared many years of friendship with Ellie, I will miss her dearly. One of my favorite memories is the time we played many roles together in my first Geneseo Community Players production of Annie Get Your Gun starring her beloved sister Gertrude. We were Indians, dancers, and townspeople in our choral roles where Mom Judy made sure the two of us were always near each other in the blocking of scenes so I could help Ellie learn her movements. It was the start of our friendship that bonded us as theatre lovers. My heartfelt condolences to Kathleen, Emmett and the entire extended family, especially the Thomas Family children. Hugs!SOPUQ

We did not know Ellie long. It was not hard to see the warm generous person she was. I remember we met her on a trip thru Geneseo. We planned to catch up with her for the 1st time. I was amazed at how open and welcoming she was. Like she had know us all her life. Miss Ellie, you were a bright spot in our lives even for the brief time we knew you. Rest easy. Sue & Cher

Ellie has always had a special place in my heart.. I first met Ellie, while she was riding her mom's moped around town at about 15 or 16 years old.. I had stopped her, and that's when our friendship began.. Ellie had so many special gifts/ life lessons to teach me.. With a quick comeback and a huge grin.. and always a trusted and forever friend.. Thank God she is now at Peace and with the Lord... RIP my darling...

I have many wonderful memories of Ellie and will cherish all of them. From kids in school to seeing her at Wegmans & horse events we can all be so lucky to have a friend like her. I'll miss her saucy jokes and how she loved speaking of her nieces & nephews. May you fly high and proud Ellie, you made a mark her on earth as you will in Heaven. My condolences & prayers to the entire family.

Ellie and I chatted often at Wegmans. I had a service dog named Reese, and she loved him, stopping to say hi to me and petting Reese. He always had an exuberant tail wag for her. She always had a positive thing to say. I will miss her.

I have many wonderful memories of the Houston family, and my friendship with them. None so special as a fondness for Ellie. She was a special young girl that grew into an equally special woman, and we were all blessed to be touched by her. I will always remember her infectious smile an love of theater, life and horses. The world is a lesser place for losing her, but heaven is a lot brighter for the presence of her beautiful soul. God Bless you dear, be united with your family and see you some day when we all cross the river and receive the final call. I will miss you here.
Always
