Dear Family,
Nana! Nana! Nana!
When I think of the young families that came to worship at Second Baptist Church of Mumford and were welcomed with a warm smile and the inviting greeting, “Come on out to the house after church,” I think about Nana. Yes, Isaiah and I were one of those families. Many of us had moved to Rochester from other parts of the country and were raising children without family nearby. Nana and Papa Green became mom and dad to us and grandparents to our children. Nana exemplified love in action. She was generous, kind and caring. She took us all under her wings. No matter how many were around her table or in her home, she always made room for more. She encouraged us, inspired us, listened to us, gave us helpful hints about parenting, problem solving and waiting on the Lord. All the while, she shared her wisdom, guidance and correction when needed. I thank the Lord for blessing our life with Nana!
Over the years my family and I moved three times since those wonderful days in Rochester. We did not get back to Rochester often. Yes, we miss her. I can see her smile and hear her deep, jolly laughter. I thank you, Chris, Karen and Vicki for your generosity …sharing your beautiful mom with all of us.
Love and Blessings

I remember Florence as a very pleasant lady--soft, warm voice and ready smile. I loved hearing her play the piano.
I appreciate the opportunity to share these thoughts and look forward to the heavenly reunion when Christ comes again, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17. Hallelujah!

I spent many a weekend at Mrs. Green's home in 1966 and 67 while attending Geneseo. Wonderful memories of her delicious meals including corn pudding which I still make. My sympathies and prayers go out to the Green family.
