Obituary of Gary G. Boyd

Gary G. "Digger" Boyd, age 76, of Retsof, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, James and June Boyd and his brother, James Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Boyd, children, Alesia Boyd of Geneseo, Jason (Marcy) Boyd of Retsof, 7 grandchildren, Megan (Dustin) Macauley, Katie (TJ) Coleman, Jacob Van Norman, Jessica, Sydney, Aidan and Connor Boyd, great grandson, Myles Coleman, uncle, Bill (Ginny) Boyd of Retsof and many cousins. Gary was born June 7, 1943 in Warsaw, NY the son of James and June Abbott Boyd. He was a graduate of York Central School class of 1962. Gary attended and graduated with an Associate's Degree from the Rochester Business Institute. He retired as a Hoist Engineer from AKZO Nobel Salt Mine in Retsof after 35 years. Gary was an avid outdoorsman belonging to the A-On-Do-Wa-Nuh Sportsman Club in Cuylerville and the York Sportsman Club. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11 AM.
