Obituary of Janiro "Jerry" Algier

Janiro "Jerry" Algier, 89, formerly of Geneseo and Fairport, passed away peacefully, October 1, 2019 at the Brookdale Pittsford Facility. Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Audrey, son Daniel, parents, Natale and Theresa Algier, siblings, Nellie, Philip, Angelo, Rosaria, Joseph and John. He is survived by his sons, Jerry (Joann) Algier of Attica, Bob (Anne-Marie) Algier of Fairport, grandchildren, Jaclyn Algier of Attica, Ryan Algier of Fairport, sister, Millie Cibella of Ohio, several nieces and nephews. He was born February 21, 1930 in York NY. He was honored for his 35 years of work at the Genesee & Wyoming Railroad. Jerry had a deep love for his grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events. His sense of humor and warm smile endeared him to many and he made delicious peppers which he would enjoy with a cold beer. Many heartfelt thanks to his wonderful care providers at Brookdale Pittsford. No prior calling hours. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo with Father Brian Cool officiating.
