Obituary of Michael S. Aten

Michael S. Aten, age 44, of Groveland, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his residence. He was predeceased by his mother, Rachel Aten in 2002, maternal grandparents, George and Alice Kiefer, paternal grandfather, Elmer Aten.

He is survived by his wife Millie A. Collins Aten, his son, Michael S. (Jessica Proctor) Aten II of Groveland, father, David (Gloria) Aten of TX, sister, Jennifer Aten of Groveland, half siblings, David Aten and Valerie Aten both of TX, a large extended family including, John (Selena) Collins II, Cheltsea Collins, his grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael was born August 9, 1974 in Warsaw, NY the son of David and the late Rachel Kiefer Aten. He was employed by Syracuse Supply as a CNC Service Engineer serving clients throughout Western New York. Mike was a graduate of Geneseo Central School and was a member of the Groveland Fire Department for over 20 years. He was a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for Troop 72 based in Geneseo.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where his Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 11 AM with Pastor Matt Finch officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland.
