Obituary of Linda J. Macaluso

Linda J. Macaluso, age 67, of Leicester, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her residence. She was predeceased by her father, John Alexander, mother and step father, Peggy and Clarence Shurtleff. She is survived by her husband, Nicholas, children, Nicole Macaluso, John (Christine Ellis) Macaluso all of Leicester, granddaughter, Bryanna Petrillo, sister, Diana (David) Gurak of Livonia, beloved friend, Joyce Galvin of Mt. Morris, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Linda was born August 14, 1949 in Warsaw, NY the daughter of John P. Alexander and Lvella "Peggy" Clark Alexander Shurtleff. She was a Graduate of York Central School class of 1968. Linda began work as a part-time Deputy for the Livingston County Sheriff's Department on May 18, 1990, and became full-time on November 1, 1993. She retired November 11, 2007. In previous years, Linda owned and operated a glass/antique shop, was a hairdresser, and even drove the family business oil truck. She loved the hot days of summer when she could be on her tractor mowing and gardening, or riding her motorcycle. In the winter, she enjoyed plowing snow and riding snowmobiles. She loved being behind the wheel of any vehicle. Her most cherished time spent was with her granddaughter Bryanna, painting and doing crafts. Linda's two dogs, Maggie and Sophie, were constant companions and by her bedside when she passed. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 175 Main St. in Leicester with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be in Leicester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wilmont Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642.
