As we travel through our lives there are many experiences and episodes that always remain with us. My childhood growing up in Walton will always be a part of that and that is because of the friendships that were made. Gail has always been a part of those fond memories because of his kindness, thoughtfulness and caring and sitting through many classes together. It was fun watching him play sports with Cookie on the
cheerleading squad. Rest in Peace from a friend that goes back to grade school.

Gail was a great soul. Big enough to love and touch the hearts of so very many people, to make us all laugh, to make us all feel so good about ourselves. Thank you Gail. You are the best. And thank you, the Yarnes family (love you all), for sharing this great soul with the rest of us.

Hey Pop: Thanks for always making the kid from Long Island feel welcome and making me an honorary up stater. I can't tell you how special it made me feel when you always called me son. It is a feeling that will live with me forever. My goal in life is to be as much a hero to my girls as you have always been to my beautiful wife, your daughter Karyn. I promise to always take care of them and your memory will always live on in my heart and our lives. Love you and miss you Pop! Go Bills Go Syracuse Dre aka Big Buck

The Masten clan will greatly miss Gail! He's been in all of our thoughts. I know for me, I will always think of him whenever I hear the song, "Any man of mine" by Shania Twain! We would always dance to it whenever it was playing at the Old Madrid. My husband wouldn't dance with me, but Aunt Cookie was always gracious enough to let me dance with him! We had some good laughs at The Old Madrid! Thank for some great memories! Love Charlene Masten and the Masten clan

The first time I met Gail, he pulled a picture of Cookie out of his wallet and expressed how beautiful he thought his wife was. We all agreed.
Gail was my favorite dance partner. He made his partner think that she could actually dance well even though she had two left feet with anyone else.
Gail was a fierce poker player- would always pay to see what you had and always make you pay to see his hand.
Gail made beautiful carvings (on fungus, no less).
Gail was always charming .
Thirty years later, Gail, still carried Cookie's picture (at 16)and still said that he thought he had been pretty lucky.

Gail, was probably one of the most friendly, kind and considerate people I ever met. Everytime I saw him he always and I mean always made a point of saying hello and how is the family? This something nowadays is lost. Glenn thought the world of Gail and would have done anything for him. Both of our hearts know what it is like to lose a father. There will be tears and there will be smiles when you think of the memories. Be proud and happy that you had a dad and husband who had a good life and a wonderful family. Our love goes out to your family. Love you all. Jeannine and Glenn Miller

I worked with Gail for many years at Rochester Telephone. I remember him as an excellent engineer and a very good athlete. I knew all of the boys,
Scott, Craig and Eric. I remember Karyn But really did not know her. I remember her as being very pretty. Craig went to HS with my daughter Mary Pat. I coached Eric in Youth league fooball. He was very, very good. I remember Caroline (Cookie) as a very wonderful lady. Gail will be missed by his friends and family. As Christians we believe that in dying you go to a better palce. Gail is in that place now celebrating.

I will always remember dancing with Gail ... and how he could make me laugh. A true gentleman is so many ways. Those are the kinds of things that he will be remembered for. While it's going to be very difficult to think of this world without him, it is a happy thought knowing that wherever he is, he will be dancing and spreading happiness. My thought and prayers go out to all of your family at this difficult time.

When I first met the Yarnes family as a sign of respect I always addressed Gail as Mr. Yarns and he would ALWAYS respond “Mr. Yarns is my father”. I continued to do this right up until our last contact a couple months ago via social media…. Referred to Gail as Mr. Yarnes and again the response I became so used to came back, “Mr. Yarns is my father”. Well,Gail you will be missed….may you rest in peace.
