We drove Pete nuts in the 70's when the "Main Street Commandos" were out and about! We loved his mother's pizza sauce, the bowling alley and his tolerance of us. Memories never forgotten!

Dear Donna and family,
Hearing of Pete's passing brought back so many fond memories of the times I tended bar for him at the Palace Lounge many, many years ago. Pete took a big risk in having the first female bartender in Geneseo, much to my father's chagrin. I always felt like an adopted daughter to you two. He was a wonderful, kind man with a big heart and will greatly missed by all who knew him. I am so sorry for your loss.

To all the Bondi family my heart goes out in sympathy. Pete was everyone's friend and confidant and he certainly was mine all the years I lived in Geneseo. In high school I can still see him dribbling furiously down the floor toward the basket only to have him slide to a stop and pass the ball off. He never stopped helping - helping anyone who ever needed it. I think the last time I saw him was with Bill Marks at an impromptu stop-in at one of the class reunions of the class of '52 because those two always considered themselves part of our class too. Another good man gone from Main Street - only to be added to those in a better place. God Bless you, Pete!

Dear Donna and Family,
I was so very saddened to read of Pete's passing, and send my sincere sympathies to all of you. I was one of those long-ago Geneseoans, and Kiwanis wives, and understand Pete's interest and devotion to each. And Donna, I remember sitting out a Prom evening with you, as we visited together, drank a bit, and solved the problems of the world, as only such "experts" as we could do!
Your family and mine have intersected in several ways over the time when our children were young, and I was always so fond of you and of them.
I guess one of the "problems" we didn't know enough to solve was that of aging; whoever thought about being 80's when we were 30's and 40's??! Yet here we are, and Pete shared a long and rich life with you, his family and a host of friends. Fortunately, you have that wonderful family and friends to support you, and share many, many sweet memories. Please count me among those friends. When the pain eases, and it will, I hope that your sorrow will be a bit lightened, and your own life will continue enriched and strengthened by the fact of your long life together.
I hold you all close in my heart, and in my thoughts.

Those of us to grow up in "Geneseo" small town USA are blessed. Those of us there to call the Bondi's friends, school mates, coaches, neighbors or acquaintances were simply better people as a result. Thank you, Mr. Bondi for being you & now rest peacefully as you so deserve. Many thoughts & prayers to your family members left here, but we know you remains close in spirit.
Love,
Lissa

To The Bondi Family,
I will havethe fondest memories of the man who taught me to bowl. Pete took good care of us kids. He provided Mike "Fish" McGuire with his weekly Ham and Cheese, my brother, Paul Richard and many others with the Saturday Morning opportunities to bowl, be kids and free the streets of Geneseo from us. Thank you Pete, may God Bless you and provide you with eternal peace and rest. As a fellow warrior, I salute you, raise a toast to you this night , and speak the words of taps, may you stand with our fellow warriors in the line. Our love and prayers fro strength and peace to your loved ones here, may they know your happy and at peace, and that one day they will see you again.
Love

" I never met a man I didn't like." Will Rogers, Pete Bondi lived by these words.
I never met a man that didn't like Peter Bondi and I've never known a man quite like him. His honesty, serenity, kind humor and so many other fine qualities put him far ahead of his peers. With no bravado Pete lived a life of dedication and love for his family and community, always calmly moving forward with a positive attitude. Pete was my mentor when I returned from Vietnam and although I didn't always listen he never refused to help me. Pete's life will never be the plot of a blockbuster novel or movie. Instead it should appear as a model of civility and sensibility. I have met celebrities, heroes and many popular icons but none, in the long run, have impressed me more than Peter E. Bondi. I won't miss him because he will always be with me.

You couldn't ask for a better person then Peter Bondi. He always had a smile on his face, never had a bad word to say about anyone and you cherished his conversation and friendship. I feel sorry for the people that never met Peter as they really missed out in meeting a very special person.
Thanks for the memories Peter and God Bless the Bondi Family.

I have many fond memories of Peter, and growing up in Geneseo. He was an extremely kind and gentle person who served as a mentor, teacher and leader to so many of us. My fond memories surround our Saturday morning bowling league when we were in high school, and the camaraderie that was built around these activities. The photo attached to this website, in my opinion, captures his spirit as he always had an infectious smile. Peter was a giver, not a taker, and he touched so many of us in his quiet way.
To Donna and his family, our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. As a candle lights another to illuminate a darkened room, may one fond memory gather another to fill you with a treasury of memories. These memories will keep him alive in your minds and hearts forever.

So sorry Donna for your loss. Pete was such a great guy. My dad bowled at Palace Lanes and rewired it for Pete at one time. He had nothing but wonderful things to say about Pete. As for myself, Dan and I bowled for years with the both of you and Pete was such a wonderful kind man always smiling.
He will be missed.
