I only met Stacey once, but we had an immediate connection. He was catching up with another old friend and I was along for the ride. It was enough for me to just sit and listen to his stories of his work and his life. We never met again in person but stayed connected through FaceBook. His many posts showed a man that loved good food and loved life. It is tragic that it was so short, so I'd like to think that God needed to hear a good story and called Stacey home.

Cry not for my passing, because my journey was long,
and beautiful. I lived my life with you, a part of me,
an intricate , woven friendship that can live in
memories, in thoughts, in your soul. Forget me not, and
I will remember you when I enter the doors of heaven,
when they open wide, and God greets me. I will look
back, a last glance, and your smile will stay with me,
and help me to go into the unknown. Your glimmer in
your eyes will sparkle, as the stars twinkle, and light
the way to my everlasting rest. Don’t weep for me. My
body grew tired, weary, and it was time to leave the
flesh that carried my soul for so many years, and saw
pain, sorrow, pity, love, happiness, and the will to
carry on when all around me was a wonderful adventure
of life. How I will miss your smile, your inner you,
the you I came to love, admire, and hold within me when
at times I thought all hope was lost. You lifted me up,
higher and higher on days my heart was heavy, and I was
at my lowest and at the precipice , and about to fall
deeper. You lifted me, held me in your hands, in your
friendship, and carried back to reality, to the world
that would be mine. Miss me not, for I will always be
by your side. I will touch you with a warm breeze,
tickle you with a feather, as it glances your cheek, in
the wind. My soul will embrace you on a cold day, and
hopefully hug you when you are also at your lowest, and
you need to be embraced. Please smile on the day I
leave this earth, because it is not the end, but the
beginning of a new life, a new birth into heaven where
I will be greeted by the ones I loved who entered
heaven before me. They will guide my way as the white
clouds close behind me, and Earth becomes a fond
memory, and you remain behind to tell stories of me
that will make people laugh, to cry, to keep me alive
in words, in thoughts, in memories. Raise a glass at my
wake, and cheer my passing , for I have not left you
behind, because we will one day meet again at the gates
of heaven, and your bright light will mingle with my
beaming light once again, and we will float above the
clouds, hovering above those loved ones we have left
behind. Death is not the end. Death is not the last of
our being. Remember me. Laugh, smile, joke, and carry
on my memory, as so many people will carry on yours
when it is your time to ascend into a new world of
light, and energy. We are all an intricate part of each
others lives. We touch so many people, who touch
others, who touch others into infinity. We are ripples
of life , ebbing across the vast world. Please touch
each other with goodness, kindness, and be remembered
in that good light. Weep not, because you were loved by
me, as I was loved by you, and we gave each other a
reason to remember. I go now , and say farewell, until
we meet again, and if you feel a cool breeze tickle you
on a warm day, it is only me, saying hello, I love you.
Goodbye Stacey, we will miss you dearly.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Stacey's family and friends. He was a great guy. I loved working with him and being his friend. I will truly miss his wit and humor. He had some real struggles and now he's at peace. Chris, I know he thought the world of you. Just try to keep all the good memories close in your heart, and know you'll be together again someday.
