Obituary of Terry L. Sherwood

Terry L. Sherwood, 62, of Conesus Lake and Rochester, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Teresa House in Geneseo, NY. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Sherwood, son, Matthew Sherwood, daughter, Laura Sherwood both of Rochester, brothers, John (Karolyn) Sherwood of South Bristol, David (Paula) Sherwood of Poughkeepsie, nieces, Kira (Joe) Jewett, Kristen Sherwood, Kathy (Jeremy) Van Horn, and Laurie Sherwood, close friends, Chip Evra and Phil Betette. He was born July 7, 1950 in Rochester, NY the son of William and Rhoda Gardner Sherwood. Terry grew up in Henrietta, New York. He graduated from RIT with an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. Terry and Rose were married in Martha's Vineyard in 1975. He started Audio Services, with Keith Barr. This was a small business that repaired all audio equipment. Terry also started MXR Innovations with Keith. The company produced audio devices that would change the music scene. In 1984 ART (Applied Research and Technology) was co-founded by Terry Barr, Phil Betette, and others. This company continued to manufacture and produce sound equipment for the music industry. Terry loved learning new things; he earned his pilot's license and flew small planes. He was certified in many different areas of scuba diving. Terry loved diving and traveled to many well known dive sites in the world with his buddy, "Chip" Evra. Terry loved animals, boating on Conesus Lake, The Beatles, gin and tonics, eating lobster and crab legs, all of his family and his many friends. Terry learned to love all the care, support and love extended to him through the James P. Wilmot Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and through the Teresa House. He received love and gave it.
