Obituary of Brigid Alice Herlihy

August 22, 2011, Brigid Alice Herlihy, 18, of Geneseo, passed from the loving arms of her family to the loving arms of the Lord after succumbing to complications from ITP which she fought bravely and without complaint for over two years. Brigid is survived by her sister, Kathleen and her parents, Tom and Ellen Herlihy, grandmother, Myra Herlihy of Geneseo and grandfather, Patrick Lahey of Scranton, Pa, 20 cousins and many aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Margaret Lahey and her paternal grandfather, John Herlihy. Brigid was a rising senior at Geneseo High School. She was active in the drama club and show choir and a member of the National Honor Society. She received the Clarkson University Achievement Award for Science and participated in the Cornell University Summer College program where she studied veterinary conservation medicine. Friends may call Thursday 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Mass Friday, 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo.
