Obituary of Brother Theodore Daly

Theodore Daly, know as Brother Theodore at the Abbey of the Genesee Monastery in Piffard, NY died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Monastery. Brother Theodore was 84. He is predeceased by his brothers, Francis, John, Vincent, sisters, Catherine, Veronica, Sarah, and nephew Thomas. He is survived by his brother, Joseph Daly, 13 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews, 6 great great nieces and nephews, and fellow Trappist Monks at the Abbey of the Genesee. He was born April 17, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Francis and Loretta Rosney Daly. Brother Theodore graduated from North East Catholic High School for Boys in 1946. He was a member of the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky before becoming one of the founding fathers of the Abbey of the Genesee in 1951. Brother Theodore was a supervisor in the bakery at the Abbey. Visitation will be held at the Abbey of the Genesee on Tuesday from 6:15 - 6:40 PM and on Wednesday from 2 AM - 9:45 AM. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 9:45 AM at the Abbey of the Genesee. Burial will be in the Abbey of the Genesee Cemetery in Piffard, NY.
