Obituary of Ruth Louise Hicks

Ruth L. Hicks, 88, of York Road West in York, died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Robert) Barnum of Beloit, WI, Dennis (Tracy) Hicks of Mercer Island, WA, daughter in law, Gretchen Hicks of York, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sisters in law, Ora Andolora of Warsaw, Dorothy Hetzer of Rochester, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Emory Hicks in 1998, and son Douglas Hicks in 2002. She was born January 13, 1922 in Rush, NY the daughter of George and Grace Martin Hetzer. Ruth was retired from Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester where she was employed as an inspector of X-ray film. She and her late husband Emory owned and operated Valley View Stock Farm in York. Ruth was a longtime member of the York United Presbyterian Church. No Prior Calling Hours. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the York United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush.
