Obituary of Lorna S. McGuire

Lorna S. McGuire, 83, a resident of the Edna Tina Wilson Living Center in Rochester, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. Mrs. McGuire was a longtime resident of Northview Dr. in Geneseo. She is survived by her children, Patrick McGuire of East Rochester, Timothy (Patricia) McGuire (son) of Liverpool, NY, Nancy (Dr. Larry) Mauer of Monticello, NY, Julie Ann McGuire of Bethlehem, PA, Lorna "Mickey" (Carlos Hernandez) McGuire of Baltimore, MD, Ellen McGuire of Avon, Michael (Dawn) McGuire of Dayton, OH, Daniel (Chris Bensch) McGuire of Rochester, 9 grandchildren, her brother, Judson Snyder of Rohnert Park, CA, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John F. McGuire. She was born September 16, 1926 in Huntington, Long Island the daughter of Judson and Emmy Anderson Snyder. Lorna was a graduate of Huntington High School and SUNY Geneseo where she received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. She was a member of the Genesee County Speech and Hearing Association, the Livingston County United Way Campaign, American Association of University Women, the American Red Cross, the Daughters of the American Revolution, National Warplane Museum, 1941 Historical Aircraft Group and she was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Geneseo. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Friday, Suptember 17, 2010 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon of officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Genesee Valley Conservancy, P.O.
