Obituary of Maria Caney Presutti

Maria Caney Cagnazzo Presutti, 91, of Morgan Estates in Geneseo, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Presutti was formerly of Rochester. She is survived by her sons, Thomas G. (Martha) Presutti Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Robert A. "Chip" (Sharon) Presutti of Geneseo, sister Ida DiMarisco of Rochester, grandchildren, John M. (Lynne Mazadoorian) Lockhart of Avon, Roland B. Lockhart of Rochester, great grandchild, Mackenzie G. Williams and her mother Danielle L. Williams of Rochester, many nieces, nephews and friends, including longtime caregiver Ruth Barker of Leicester and her team of loving and faithful providers. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas G. Presutti, Esq., her parents Frank and Clorinda Cagnazzo, her sisters, Ann C. Ogden, Barbara C. Stern, and her brother Anthony Cagnazzo. She was born January 15, 1919 in Rochester, NY, attended Rochester School No. 1, Monroe High School and the University of Michigan. She was a devoted wife and mother whose familial love extended to all, related or not. Her table and home were open to all; she loved to entertain and care for those in need. She was a tireless fundraiser, particularly for the benefit of Seton, McQuaid Jesuit, and her home parish, St. Thomas More. Her generous and loving spirit and engaging sense of fun will be missed. No prior calling hours. A Memorial Mass wil be held Thursday September 16, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo at 1:00 PM. Private interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester. The family gratefully declines flowers. Friends are asked to donate to a charity of chioce, but more important, to do a good deed in her honor.
