Obituary of Patricia Hughes

Lady Lake, FL --Patricia Hughes, 71, formerly of Snowshoe, PA, and Geneseo, NY, died on June 5, 2010. "We have a huge hole in our hearts as we mourn the passing of a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, beloved sister, and loyal friend. Pat touched so many lives with her generous and giving spirit. Her commitment to her family and friends is a testament to a life well-lived, and she will live forever in the hearts of her family and dear friends." Pat "Patty" was born in Snowshoe, PA to Frederick Lester Hall and Sara Elizabeth Sherman Hall. She moved to The Villages, FL from Geneseo, NY in 1998 with her husband Robert " Bob" Hughes. She was an accomplished administrative assistant who worked at White Devon Farm in Geneseo, and at Geneseo Central School as the Superintendent's assistant. She later worked as a paralegal at the law offices of James Cannon in Mt. Morris, NY. She is fondly remembered by co-workers, students, faculty, neighbors, and friends for her kind demeanor and fun-loving spirit. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bob, along with her four sons, Shawn and wife Sandy Hughes of Tampa, FL, Tim and wife Kerry Hughes of Orchard Park, NY, Tom and wife Jessica Hughes of Jupiter, FL, Mike and wife Mollie Hughes of St. Augustine, FL; sisters Sharon McGonigal of Hanover, PA, Cynthia Butler of Bellefonte, PA, and Jaqueline Granite of Mechanicsburg, PA; and her 9 grandchildren, Erin, Patrick, Brendan, Noah, Shannon, Mallory, Anthony, Tori and Peyton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass on Thursday, June 10 at 10:00 AM at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in The Villages, FL.
