Obituary of Doris P. Bloom

Doris P. Bloom, 87, of 600 Country Lane in Geneseo, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. She is survived by her son, Marion (Corie) Bloom of Avon, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother, John Smith of Hornell, 2 sisters, Kate Storm and Ann (John) Trentanelli both of Hornell, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Bloom Jr., her daughters, Donna Andrews and Bonnie Barnes, and her brother Donald Smith. She was born March 8, 1923 in Canisteo, NY the daughter of Elmer and Hazel Clark Smith. Doris was a longtime volunteer for the Livingston, Steuben and Wyoming Counties Foster Grandparent Program which is based in Mt. Morris, NY. She had been located at the Kidstart Program at the Holcomb Building on the campus of SUNY Geneseo for the last 12 years through the Foster Grandparent Program. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 3-7 PM where Funeral Services will follow visitation at 7 PM. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorials may be made to Noyes Memorial Hospital, 111 Clara Barton St., Dansville, NY, 14437.
