Obituary of Bernard T. Ryan Jr.
Bernard T. Ryan Jr., 67, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Mr. Ryan resided on Groveland Rd. in Geneseo and maintained a summer residence on Loon Lake in Steuben County.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Barbara Becker Ryan, daughter, Barbara "Babs" (Rickey) Ellis of Gates, grandchildren, Ryan, Casey and Erica Ellis, sisters, Betsie (Joe) Regal of Mt. Morris, Mary Adamson of Geneseo, Patsie (Vince) Levey of Mt. Morris, brother, Sean (Patsy) Ryan of Spencerport, aunts, Jeri Quirk of Geneseo, Monica Bubser of Scranton, PA, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son BT Ryan and his parents Bernard and Evelyn Ryan.
He was born June 13, 1942 in Rochester, NY the son of Bernard and Evelyn Quirk Ryan. He was a graduate of Geneseo High School and Rochester Business Institute. Bernie retired as Regional Sales Manager for Gleason Works in Rochester after 41 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's Men's Club and served on the St. Mary's Cemetery Committee. Bernie was a member of the Loon Lake Association and served on their Board of Directors. He was an exempt member of the Geneseo Fire Department and a longtime member of the Section Five Football Officials Association.
Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Friday November 20, 2009 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.
