Obituary of Robert E. Clemons

Robert E. Clemons, 102, a resident of Penfield Place Nursing Home in Penfield, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the nursing home. Mr. Clemons and his late wife Leta were longtime residents of Greigsville. He is survived by 3 sons, Gary (Gail) Clemons of Piffard, Gilbert (Marie) Clemons of Webster, Thomas (Shirley) Clemons of Marion, 7 grandchildren, Patrick, Joshua, Jonathan (Theresa), Lauren, Robert (Lisa), Brent (Suzanne), and Shawn, several nieces and nephews including special nephew Fred Willard and special niece Harriet (Norm) Ritchie. He was preceded in death by his wife Leta Clemons, and his great granddaughter Jessica Gere. He was born November 6, 1906 in Rochester, NY the son of Seth and Harriet Harvey Clemons. Bob was retired from the International Salt Mine in Retsof. He was an active member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church prior to his move to Penfield. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 1-4 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Geneseo United Methodist Church, Route 63 in Geneseo. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
