Grandpa,
It will never be the same without you. I could always count on where you would be during our deer hunts. I know you will always be out there with me, waiting on that big buck. I will never forget Sunday mornings sitting around shooting the bull and drinking coffee. You were always there no matter what we needed, and you will always be here in my heart. When I see you again someday, we will continue our visit on the porch.

Gene, the legacy you left behind will never be forgotten. You were my big brother, mentor to Little Gene and Keith as well as Adam and Kory, and such a hero to all of the rest of us. You fought long and hard, and I know you just got tired at the end. But you left us to join Daddy, Laura Marie and Grandma in the most peaceful place of all, Heaven. All of us will remember you for the battle that you fought, and all of the fond memories that you left us with. Go in peace, and know that you will stay in our hearts forever.

uncle gene,
thanks for everything you have done for me. from just givin me those crazy motor ideas that neither one of us could really afford to do. or letting me keep my trans am down there for months and months even when i was away at school half the time. you would keep comin out and being like jesus what are you doing now? then id tell you and you would go find something and be like oh use this. like that bottle of waterproofing stuff that had to be 50 years old, and i just go oh yeah ill use it but i couldnt even get the freakin cap off. or when i was down workin on that junky cougar and my tires were so bald and your just sittin in the chair and go you no what kory i got some tires. so we find these winter tires that had to be off the truck that were like 2 sizes to big but i just said fuccckkkk it and threw them on there haha. had a lot of crazy ideas in that garage, like the rocker panel idea with my buddies car haha.. you came out and looked and walked away. good idea. but im sorry if i ever woke you up for those nights where id be there till 9 or 10 or even 11 oclock at night then id back out and have to start up them tractors to move them back inside. you always said "kory you no where the heat and lights are", or "watch out that impact has some ass". im glad my last memory was puttin that exhaust on my tc. i came in and washed up and you asked what the hell are you doin tonight and i told you i put exhaust on my rice rocket and you just laughed and shook your head. i love you uncle gene and ill finish that trans am and do a niceee burnout for you :) ill always be thinkin about you. ill miss you. keep burnin them tires.

Its not that often you meet a heroic people, but when you do it gives you the strength to persevere and endure in the spite of overwhelming obstacles. Gene was a hero, there was never a battle he was not willing to face. He has inspired the ones around him to do the same. God gave Gene's family and friends memories that will always be cherished, and never forgotten. My heart is saddened by your family's loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Gene: You were one person I
never want'd to dissapoint. You told me when I married Sharon to be good to her or you "get me". My son's have lost a mentor and uncle but the time you shared with them will last a lifetime. Thanks for letting Kory show up and work in your garage. If they new how you got on floor of the garage to show Kory something on his Trans Am people would freek out but smile on your face is the memory I will keep the rest of my days. Keep the pedal to the floor and take care of my slinky girl till I catch up with you again
