Obituary of Raymond R. Simpson

Raymond R. Simpson, 89, of Main St. in York, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY.He is survived by his children, Carol (William) Hasler of York, Barbara (Roger) Huff of Scottsville, Shirley (Terry) Mandeville of Leicester, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister Phyllis (Everett) Hunn of Piffard, sister in law, Florence Simpson of Caledonia, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Simpson in 2008, and his brother Kenneth Simpson in 2002.He was born May 14, 1919 in York, NY the son of Nelson Reid and H. Annette MacIntyre Simpson. Ray was a Cornell University Graduate Class of 1941 and a member of AGR Fraternity, Cornell Chapter. He was a well known farmer throughout the area and represented Farm Family Insurance Company as a local insurance agent. He was a longtime member and Elder of the York United Presbyterian Church where he also served as Trustee and Treasurer. Ray was also a longtime member of the York Fire Department where he served as Treasurer.No prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the York United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neil Frood officiating.
