I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Rabe's passing. He was a wonderful professor, and we had kept in touch over the 16 years since I graduated from Geneseo. He always had wise words and thoughts to share.

The last time I saw Val was at a party and he came up to me and took a newspaper clipping out of his pocket and told me that he had been carrying it around for three days just in case he saw me. What a wonderful man - My hope is that with Bill Cottons passing the two of them are having a blast wherever they are. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rabe family.

Sue and family, I was shocked and saddened when I heard of Val's passing. We spent time on the LCHS board and my husband Dave always thought highly of Val. His dry sense of humor is what I remember the most. He was one of the good guys. Sincerest of sympathies for your loss.
