Obituary of Thomas Joseph Melizzi

Thomas J. Melizzi, 87, a resident at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY, died there Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Mr. Melizzi had previously resided on Boyd Lane in Wadsworth for many years. He is survived by his wife Marge Pecora Melizzi, also a resident of the Center in Mt. Morris, his children, Mary Ann (Bogdan) Melizzi Golja of Nashua, NH, Lynn (Wes) Kennison of Geneseo, grandchildren, Caroline Golja, Minhhang Kennison Wuynh, Diem Hang (William) Younes, great grandchildren, Jerod and Andrew Younes, sister, Frances Prevost of Chili, NY, several nieces and nephews, many cousins. He was born November 5, 1925 in Rochester, NY the son of Joseph and Jennie Cecere Melizzi. Tom was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He retired in 1985 from Leroy Machine in Leroy, NY. He was an avid bowler, dedicated NY Yankees fan and enjoyed playing euchre. Tom also was a well known gardener having carried on his father's greenhouse business in Wadsworth. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 9:30 AM at St. Lucy's Church in Retsof with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (Activities Fund), 11 Murray Hill Dr., Mt.
