Obituary of Jean D. McDonald

GENESEO: Jean D. McDonald, 80, died peacefully Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Bob McDonald, children Kelly(Anne) McDonald of Las Vegas, NV, Robin McDonald of Los Angeles, CA, Tracy McDonald of Geneseo, Casey(Michelle) McDonald of Ormond Beach, FL, grandchildren Cody and Spenser McDonald, Jaclyn and Bobby McDonald, brother John Dorsey of Cape Cod, MA, several nieces and nephews. She was born February 26, 1927 in Albany, NY the daughter of John and Fannie Andress Dorsey. Jean was employed as a teacher in the Perry School District before she and Bob began their family and was employed in the sales department of McCurdy's Stores of Rochester after their children were grown. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church Religious Education Program for many years. She was a member of the Clio Sorority Alumni Association and served on their Board of Directors. She was a former Director for the S.U.N.Y. at Geneseo Carol Choristers. The family wishes to thank the entire staff and loving aides at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation and is especially appreciative for the outpouring of kindness shown by close friends and community during the time of Jeans illness. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home in Geneseo on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church in Geneseo with Father Robert Kanka and Rev. Lawrence Mothersell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 428, Geneseo, NY, 14454.
