Obituary of Howard W. Crawford

Howard W. "Dessy" Crawford, age 84, of Main St. in York, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his brothers, Glenn and Carl Crawford. He is survived by his wife, Emma Doolittle Crawford, children, Debra (Ed) Orman of York, David (Karen) Crawford of Avon, Linda (Tom) Kolb of MN, 5 grandchildren, Ed (Molly) Orman, Matt (Jen) Orman, Kaitlyn, Zachary and Hannah Kolb, 3 great grandchildren, Bailey, Eliasz and Xavier Orman, sister, Shirley (Andy) Schwan of York, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dessy was born July 14, 1930 in York, NY the son of Willard and Bea Cole Crawford. He was employed by the Jell-O Company in LeRoy, Lucidol in Piffard, and York Central School where he retired in 1992. Dessy was a lifelong member, Elder and past Trustee of the York United Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the York Fire Department. Calling hours will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 2 PM at the York United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Michelle Sumption officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
