My thoughts and prayers to the Yeager family. Mr. Yeager's history class was always a favorite of mine because of his enthusiasm to teach and nurture his students. He was a great teacher, taught me a lot and gave me opportunities to succeed in his class. Through the years when I reflect on high school, I always included his name because he made that much of an impression on me in my youth.
RIP Mr. Yeager

Barb & Ralphie, our heart breaks for you. Jim is and will always be a legend in Geneseo. Not only was I lucky enough to have him as a teacher in school, he also became part of our family. When he married you I got to know the personal side of him not just the educator side. He loved you and ralphie with everything he had. He was a gentleman beyond the word and there was no end to his love for family, faith and community. When grandma passed you, Jim and Alan were one of the first ones there by grandpa's side. I will never forget that. Deepest Sympathy and all of our love.

Mr.Yeager....my favorite. My hero. You were always more than just my
History teacher. I saw you in Walmart about 2 months ago and you gave me the biggest and longest hug ever. You just kept saying how you hoped I got better...but you never told me about you. You knew that you were going to be leaving way too soon, yet your concern was about me...Two days later I found out why your hug was a little longer...why you held a little tighter. I prayed to God that I would be able to see you one more time before you left. One last hug. One chance to say goodbye. One last look at the man that I idolized. But I didn't. Now you are gone. You make sure you give Shirley a big hug from me and the kids, and give Jeff one too. I love you. I will miss you more than anything.

Then in high school as you were one of the best teachers we all had back in the day. Then I had the pleasure of being able to call you Uncle Jim, by marrying your nephew (Shane). When Coach Yeager said it was time for mother and Kool-Aid, it really meant he was going to make us an offer we couldn't refuse - "because you had no choice." After a smile, he would line us up for wind sprints. Coach worked us hard, but he was fair, caring, and a great coach. He was also a good friend and mentor. I saw him a few years ago and his smile and handshake were just as genuine as the day I graduated high school. Rest in peace coach and congratulations on a life well lived.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Yeager family. Coach Yeager was one of the greatest people to make an impact in my life as a youth. He was a great American history teacher. After school he and Coach Dick Ellis were awesome JV football coaches. Our teams blocked, tackled, and won!!! He was the best, and will forever be held in the highest regard by the many young lives he touched at GCS .

He had such a knack for making everything so interesting, but also helping us to think through things ourselves.
