Obituary of John Sinclair

John Sinclair, 90, of Milroy Rd.in York, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where he had been a resident since December of 2011. He was predeceased by his son in law, Stephen Petzen, his brother, Robert Sinclair and his sister, Janet Lloyd. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hulburt Sinclair, his daughter, Joan Petzen of Cuba, NY, his sister, Ann Delaney of North Chili, several nieces and nephews, many of whom worked his farm, along with several grand nieces and nephews. John was born September 9, 1922 in York, NY the son of Arba and Evelyn Simpson Sinclair. He served both the Towns of York and Leicester as Assessor and was employed by the York Central School Transportation Department where he served as a school bus driver. John was a lifelong and well known dairy farmer and was retired from Sinclair Farms in York. He was an Elder and Trustee of the York United Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Board of Directors. John was a member of the Livingston County Holstein Club Board of Directors and the York Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed breeding and showing Registered Guernsey and Holstein Cattle. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 4-7 PM. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11 AM at the York United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Lee Prong officiating. Private Burial will be in Mt.
