Obituary of Donald C. Barber Sr.
Donald C. Barber, Sr., age 87, of Geneseo, formerly of Groveland, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Joanne, daughter, Leslie Ann Scoville and granddaughter, Mollie McCurdy, brother, David and sister, Donna.
He is survived by his children, Laurie (John) McCurdy of Victor, Donald (Janet) Barber Jr. of Groveland, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.
Donnie was born June 9, 1937 in Dansville, NY the son of Donald and Alma Culbertson Barber. He was the owner and CEO of the family-owned business, Barber Ag. in Groveland. Donnie and Joanne retired and spent many winters in Florida. He was a longtime member of the Groveland Federated Parish.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 10 AM at the Groveland Federated Parish with Dorothy Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland.
