Obituary of James Bruce Smalling

James Bruce Smalling, age 79, of Piffard, died Monday, August 19, 2024 at East Side Nursing Home in Warsaw. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Catherine Smalling, sister, Lin Fox.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Pepper Smalling, his sons, David (Karen Harp) Smalling of Buffalo, Stephen (Michelle Bacchette) Smalling of Leicester, Peter (Julie) Smalling of Piffard, grandchildren, Carson (Hannah) Smalling, Brenden (Rachel) Smalling, Zachary (Lauren) Smalling, Ellisa and Jered Smalling, great grandchildren, Micah and Charlotte Smalling, sisters, Carol (Henry) Jones of TX, Jan (Jeff) Delcastio of CO, brother in law, Thomas Fox of CO, many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was born April 28, 1945 in Bay Shore, NY the son of Clarence and Catherine Nohearn Smalling. Bruce earned his Bachelor's Degree from Cornell University and his Master's Degree from the University of Kentucky. He retired from the Sales Team for the Seedway Company based in Penn Yan, NY. Bruce was known for his Carpentry and Photography skills. He was always gifting his lovely photos and homemade picture frames to family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.
