Obituary of Shirley Ruth Meyers

Shirley Ruth Rosenberg Meyers of Clinton Ave. in Rochester died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Shirley was a proud World War II Veteran where she served as a Wave in the US Navy as an aviation machinist preparing the SNJ Training Planes for pilots in training. She is predeceased by her parents, Morris and Lena Schlossberg Rosenberg, her husband of 47 years, Hy "Herman" David Meyers. She is survived by her five loving children, Robert (Aileen) Meyers of Columbia, SC, Gidget (John) Hopf of Geneseo, Barbara (Jerry) Underhill of Lima, Regina (Stephen) Michener of Pittsford, and Sheldon (Sara) Meyers of Brockport, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. There will be no prior calling hours. Graveside Services will be held at the Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge, NJ on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 2 PM with full military honors.
