My father passed after a long struggle long of renal failure and leukemia. He endures much to stay alive for his wife who was the only woman he ever turned his head for after meeting her. My dad was a man of few words and only through his actions did you understand who he was and what he believed in . He never treated me as a girl but as a person who could do anything I worked for . He grew up an orphan basically loosing his mother at the age of two . He joinedThe Navy younger than allowed to provide a better life for himself. He provided us experiences that would make myself and my sister never consider we were not wealthy. He once took us on a private plane tour of Letchworth. It was amazing and weeks later I came to my father bravely and said dad I would like to learn to fly . He said that's really exciting but we couldn't afford that right now. Weeks later my dad showed me a ad for a line boy at the Leroy airport. The job was to work for flight instructions. Five min later we drove to the airport and I applied and received the job . One of my best memories was dad meeting me at 9pm on his motorcycle to ride home with me . Dad bought a small bike for my sister and I to share . It was cheaper than a car.so he provided-a motorcycle for us to get around as young adults instead of a car. We just thought we were the coolest kids around. Dad thought me life skills like changing the oil on the car and changing a flat. I admired my father more than anyone. I joined the service as he did. He gave me sound advice and told me I could survive some of the hardest things life can hand you.Divorce, children leaving home and money issues. He tried to prepare me for the hardest things except .Loosing him . I'm trying to cope . Thanks everyone who has reached out .

Dear Irene, Karlene & Bridget, So sorry to read about Karls passing. Such great neighbors for so many years! I’m sure he & Jock (Dad) are reminiscing about the good ole days…back yard pools, YFD, York Hotel, cookouts etc. Great guy & great family. I know he will be truly missed. Our deepest sympathy to you all. Much love, Sue Sattora (Gary) Wadams

Irene and girls,
Sympathy on the loss of Karl. In our travels from my mom, Martha Curry's home, back and forth on York Rd West, we'd share waves as Karl and your family were out and about. May Karl "rest in peace".
Our hearts go out to your family~~
