Obituary of Alfred J. Farruggia

Alfred J. Farruggia, age 92, of Geneseo formerly of Leicester, died Monday, October 16, 2023 at the Wyoming County Community Nursing Home in Warsaw, NY. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Vince Farruggia, sisters, Frances Petrone and Anna DiLenola.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne, children, Angel (Mike) Lynch of Geneseo, Alan (Karen) Farruggia of FL, grandchildren, Chad (Molly) Radesi of Geneseo, Tera (Matt) Kendall of Henrietta, Lisa (Mike) Fanto of AZ, great grandchildren, Abigail Radesi, Cullen and Silas Kendall, Vincent, Amelia and Michael Fanto, many nieces and nephews.

Alfred was born April 18, 1931 in Retsof, NY the son of Pasquale and Josephine Nuciola Farruggia. He was a US Air Force Korean War Veteran. Al was employed and retired from Specialized Printed Forms in Caledonia as a Supervisor. He was a slow pitch softball umpire and also an avid bowler.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Lucy's Church in Retsof with Father Sylvester Bioh officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.
