Obituary of Samuel A. Nevin
Samuel A. Nevin, Jr., age 96, of York, died Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the Livingston County Center For Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty, his brother William Nevin and sister Elizabeth Bovill.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Colleen) Nevin of York, Karen (Ray) Valone of Webster, Kathy (Terry) Bullard of Riga, Julie (Sam) Guinta of Livonia, Sam (Sherri Wood) Nevin of York, Grandchildren, Sarah Shaun) Boland, Eric (Katelyn) Nevin, Ryan and Brett Bullard, Tom Guinta, Jessica, Sam and Courtney Nevin, great granddaughter, Isla Boland, sister, Agnes Nichols of Penfield, nieces and nephews.
Sam was born January 31, 1927 in York, NY the son of Samuel A. and Sarah Houston Nevin Sr.
He obtained his Associates Degree from Cornell University. Sam was a well-known farmer in York and also owned and operated his own fertilizer business. He loved to fly and was a member of the Rochester Geriatric Pilots Association. Sam was the oldest member of the York United Presbyterian Church.
Friends may call Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 1-4 pm at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11 am at the York United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Main St., in York with Rev. Michelle Sumption officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, York.
