Obituary of George W. Porter

George W. Porter, age 67, of Begole Rd. in Mt. Morris, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his residence. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Dorothy Clarke Porter. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie "Roberta" Porter, children, Douglas (Mary) Porter of FL, Karen Porter of FL, James (Brandi) Buys of OK, grandchildren, Bailey Henderson and Ashly Balitz, great grandson, Ethan Blitz, sisters, Joyce Martin of PA, Judy (Garth) Rauber of PA, Sandra (Bob) Cramer of PA, Wanda Schillinger of Dansville, brothers, Thomas (Cheryl) Taft of Scottsburg, Gary (Lynn) Taft of Nunda, Clay (Chris) Taft of Nunda, Clint (Robin) Taft of Geneseo, step mother, Marilyn Taft Porter of Dansville, many nieces, nephews and his canine companion Harley. George was born October 12, 1946 in Rochester, NY the son of William and Dorothy Clarke Porter. He was an avid Hunter, and loved riding his Harley Motorcycles. The family would like to thank Dr. Kelly Lisciandro, Dr. Maurice Vaughan, Dr. James White and the Livingston County Hospice for the loving care they provided for George. A celebration of George's life will be held February 15, 2014 from 3 - 6 PM at the Hally-Allen American Legion, 7153 Route 36 in Sonyea, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sands-Constellation Heart Institute, Rochester General Hospital, 1425 Portland Ave., Rochester, NY 14621.
