Obituary of Ruth C. Hoppe

Ruth C. Hoppe, 93, of Rush, formerly of Geneseo, died Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Avon Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since August of 2011. Ruth was predeceased by her husbands, Edward Rodamaker and Richard Hoppe. She is survived by 2 sons, Mark (Linda) Rodamaker of Los Altos, CA, Lee (Molly) Rodamaker of Avon, stepchildren, David (Linda) Hoppe of Meza, AZ, James Hoppe of Portage, MI, Larry (Marilyn) Hoppe of Wichita Falls, TX and Jeanne (Bob) Starovic of Sugarland, TX, 2 grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, Pauline (James) Cante of Stafford, several nieces and nephews. Ruth was born August 3, 1920 in Oakfield, NY the daughter of Carl and Florine Gann Merkel. She was a graduate of Oakfield High School and received her teaching degree at SUNY Geneseo. Ruth was a retired second grade teacher from the Holcomb Campus School in Geneseo and a member of the Rush United Methodist Church. Friends may call Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 2-4 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St in Geneseo where Memorial Services will follow visitation at 4 PM with Rev. William Pegg of the Rush United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush.
