Obituary of John R. Lea

John R. Lea, age 67, of Rochester, formerly of Geneseo, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his father, Robert E. Lea, twin brothers, David B. and Kyle E. Lea, and his beloved grandparents, Oma and Opa Barduna.

He is survived by his mother Ruth A. Lea of Conesus Lake, sister, Susan (Ray) Magee of Geneseo, nieces, Julie Magee of Avon and Katherine (Phil) Pham of Maui, HI, nephew, Matthew Magee of Wayland, several cousins in CA and Idaho, many dear friends in Rochester, Webster, Geneseo and at Xerox Corporation.

John was born September 6, 1954 in Rochester, NY the son of Robert E. Lea and Ruth A. Barduna Lea. The family moved to Conesus lake in 1967. John graduated from Geneseo High School in 1973 where he excelled at football and track. Following high school he attended Genesee Community College in Batavia and Rochester Institute of Technology. John was employed at Xerox Corporation in Rochester, Webster and Dallas, TX for over 20 years. He was a former member of Livingston Country Club in Geneseo and enjoyed many golf trips to Myrtle Beach, SC with club members. He also enjoyed playing softball in the Geneseo League for many summers. John was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, New York Yankees fan and in recent years served as commissioner of several Fantasy Football Leagues.
