I am Laurel's 1st cousin. Her biological father, Jack Mckim, was my mother 's younger brother. As children, before we started kindergarten, her mother Laura, watched over us until we started school. I was present when Robert had the accident that caused his brain injury. My mother and Aunt Laura took him to Glen Cove hospital in a wagon. At that time, most families only had one car. We both graduated from Glen Cove High School, class of 1961, but lost touch after that. I am sorry to hear she has passed. Please accept these late condolences.
