To one of the very best- always so kind and true - I will never, ever forget your kindness and the gifts you gave to all of us as chamber singers. There are simply not enough words... You created a family for us all. You created a soulful, mature sound - a true ensemble - with a small group of 18-22 year olds. We all still feel so connected... THAT is what is so powerful. Thank you for all you have done for the music world, your profession, and each and every one of us. Docette, I hope you will see in these next few days how very much you mean to all of us as well....You are in our thoughts, prayers, and hearts. Always! xoxo All the love that could be, Laura Anderson (& Kim, my spouse, and our daughter Gloria)

Dear Docette and family, John and I are praying for you. There are so many lovely, funny and life changing memories and shared experiences with the Chamber Singers. Singing brings deep joy, sorrow, comfort and love that spoken words cannot match. It transcends time and space and has given us undeniable close to God moments. We were each chosen by Doc and what an honor to have known him and you Docette for over 40 years. We love you! May God watch over you during this difficult time. Love, John and Cyndy XXOO

While I was in high school, the Geneseo Chamber Singers sang several times at my church (Christ United Methodist) in Snyder, New York. I auditioned on a whim my freshman year, never expecting to be accepted in that august group, and was accepted into the Tenor section. When it came time in 1977 for the tour in Spain, I knew I could not afford it, nor ask my parents to pay toward it. Overseas travel was a luxury that "other people" experienced. I told Doc that I could not go. He told me that he really wanted me to be in the touring choir, and offered to lend me the cost of going (no interest, pay when you can). I accepted his offer (and paid him back from my summer earnings that year) and found that I too could travel. I have now participated in a semester abroad in France, mission trips to the Middle East, Central America, and Africa, disaster relief teams in the US mainland and overseas territories, and family travel to Europe. Doc introduced me to the world. He also introduced me to an excellence in music that has never been equaled in my life, but has been the basis for a lifetime of choral singing. Doc, may God hold you gently and love you strongly!

I studied guitar and baratone horn under Dr. Isgro in the Spring 1975 semester, while singing tenor in the Chamber Singers. I have always felt he gave me the gift of learning to play guitar all these years. While my experience of his tutelage was short, his value as a mentor was lifelong. Deepest condolences to his family. Thank you for sharing his life with us.
