Obituary of Porter Wayne Swede

Porter Wayne Swede, age 79, of Geneseo, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kerri Forsberg.

He is survived by his longtime companion with whom he resided, Karen Rumfola, son, Wayne (Brynn Ross) Swede of Geneseo, grandchildren, Ryan (Alyssa) Consiglio of Phelps, Chelsey Saunders of Holley, Austin Wester of Perry, great grandchildren, Gavin, Hailey, Hayden and Paysen, step daughter, Kellie (Jamie) Nevin, step grandchildren, Riley and Natalie Nevin all of Avon, ex-wife, Rosemary Swede of Geneseo, brother, David (Darlene) Swede of Perry, several nieces and nephews.

Wayne was born February 6, 1943 in Warsaw, NY the son of Porter H. and Bernice Ault Swede. He loved working as a carpenter and retired from Kircher Construction in Mt. Morris. Wayne enjoyed bowling, golfing, racing R/C cars and cars in general, especially Dodge cars.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where his Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1 PM with Jeff Guesno officiating. Burial will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.
