I was assigned to be on Phyllis' team when I worked as a Public Health Nurse at the Livingston Co DOH. We worked many years together doing well child clinics, HTN clinics and home visits to patients in the towns of York, Leicester and Mt Morris. I remember that she was especially dedicated to 3 of her patients who suffered with MS. Phyllis had a caring heart. She always kept a sign on her desk that said "I cried when I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet". She was deeply thoughtful about life.
I also recall that her twin daughters were so good to Phyllis sometimes surprising her with a pretty placemat and flowers and a dessert on her desk.
