Obituary of Barbara B. Ryan

Barbara B. Ryan, age 82, of Geneseo, died Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard T. Ryan Jr., son, BT Ryan III, twin brother, William Becker, sisters, Grace Roberts, Mary Jane Becker, Patricia "Patsy" Ryan, sister-in-law, Evelyn "Betsie" Regal, brothers in law, William Roberts, Grover Riefler and Rod Adamson.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Dr. Barbara "Babs" (Sean Mix) Ellis of Geneseo, grandchildren, Ryan (Claire) Ellis, Casey (Tychianna) Ellis, Erica Ellis, sister, Elizabeth Riefler of West Valley, NY, sisters in law, Mary Adamson of Groveland, Patsie (Vince) Levey of Mt. Morris, brothers in law, P. Sean Ryan of Spencerport, Joseph Regal of Mt. Morris, many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born September 28, 1942 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of Otto J. and Grace Wright Becker. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching from SUNY Geneseo. Barbara then became an Elementary Teacher for Dansville Central School. After retiring from teaching, Barbara worked for Petersons Drugstore in the Pharmacy Department in Geneseo. She and her husband, Bernie enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Loon Lake.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Daniel White officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
